Harira Soup

What can I do with leftover cooked beef?


3 tablespoons of olive oil. ½ cup of boiled chickpeas. ½ cup of green lentils. 1 cup of celery. 20 g of coriander laves. 20 g of parsley leaves. 4 tomatoes. ½ cup of finely chopped onions. 3 minced garlic cloves. 1 tablespoon of salt. 1 teaspoon of black pepper. 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder. 1 teaspoon of cumin powder. 3 tablespoons of tomato paste. 1.5 L of water.


  1. In a large pot, heat up the olive oil, and fry the onions, garlic and celery. Stir until soft.

  2. Add the tomatoes, water and green lentils and mix until combined.

  3. Add the parsley, coriander, and boiled chickpeas.
  4. Stir in the salt, pepper, turmeric and cumin powders.

  5. Add the tomato paste.

  6. When the lentils are soft and fully cooked, blend the mixture with a hand blender until completely homogenous.

  7. Garnish with green onions.

  8. Serve warm.

Preparation Time : 10 - 20 Minutes

Cooking Time : 30 - 40 Minutes
