Fruit Trifle

What can I do with ripe fruits?

Ingredients

½ cup orange juice 1 cup whipped cream Leftover sponge cake 1 banana, sliced 1 cup strawberries, sliced

Method

  1. Take some cake, crumble into smaller pieces by hand, and spread in a glass dish (approximately 5x5 inches) until the base is covered.

  2. Roughly cover the cake layer with some strawberry slices. Pour a few tablespoons of orange juice on top.

  3. Add a layer of whipped cream to cover the strawberries and cake.

  4. Roughly cover the whipped cream with some banana slices.

  5. Crumble some more cake into smaller pieces and place on top of the bananas to form another layer.

  6. Spread the remaining banana and some strawberry slices on top. Add the remaining orange juice across this banana and strawberries layer. (Save 4-5 strawberry slices for the last layer.)

  7. Cover with a final layer of whipped cream and decorate it with remaining strawberry slices.

  8. Place the trifle in the fridge to cool for 2 hours before serving.
